Rabinovicz v. Monsey Trails

The Becket Fund defended a bus company in its accommodation of the religious needs of its customers against a claim of gender discrimination backed by the ACLU. The plaintiff sued to prevent the use of a separating curtain, which Hasidic Jewish passengers needed in order to pray while in the bus. As we announced in a March press release outlining the settlement reached, all parties agreed to allow the praying passengers to continue to sit separately using the dividing curtain, provided that they, not the bus company, provide their own curtain.
